Switzerland, derived from the name of one of the founding cantons, Schwyz is a small, non-coastal country in the heart of Europe in the northern hemisphere. It has a strategic location at the crossroads of central Europe with many easily traversable passes. It belongs to the Middle European Time zone (MET), which is one hour ahead of GMT (two hours during daylight saving time).
